We're eager to do some more taste testing! We do a very good job and have loved the nommy recipes we have received! Don't forget that we are still trying to gather recipes for the Pawpawty Cookbook to benefit animal charities around the world. Please send us a recipe to add! We'd like to have you join us! We are getting excited to see this coming together. We will be updating on Twitter and Facebook, so please see my new Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=100001190431602  All the profits from the sale of the cookbook will go to the Pawpawty charities. Pawpawties are a great way to help less fortunate animals have a better life and find that ‘forever’ home!

Also any of my pals out there that are baking and selling treats, we'd love it if you'd share a recipe and also how to order your special treats! Lots of animal parents are much too busy and need a source for yummy, ‘good for you’ treats! So email your information to Mom at catsndogsdiva@gmail.com We’d love pictures too! Love to see all my pals enjoying their noms!

We’ve only got a few more weeks to get everything rounded up and ready for proofreading and the final trip to the publisher. This is a great way for us to give a small gift that keeps on giving! So email your recipe to Mom at catsndogsdiva@gmail.com Thank You!

Happy Birthday to my Kids

My kids had their 5th birthday and we celebrated with a great steak dinner and barkday cake! Boy was it yummy! Apple, banana, peanut butter & yogurt, our favorites! I can't wait for my Barkday to come! Since so many folks have asked, here is the recipe for our Barkday cake! It was so yummy and Mom & Dad even enjoyed a piece despite my pleadings to keep it all for us doggies! Oh well, they share their food sometime so I guess it's only fair!

Applesauce Oatmeal No Wheat Barkday Cake

3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
3/4 cup hot water
1 cup whole rolled oats
3 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup natural granola (non wheat)

Combine applesauce, water and oats and let stand 15 minutes. Beat in the shortening, cinnamon and granola. Transfer batter to greased 9" square pan. Smooth and flatten with spatula.

Bake at 350 in 9" square pan until cake until top is golden brown, about 40 minutes.

Cool for 10 minutes, cut around sides and remove from pan. Cool completely before decorating. If desired, frost with

Peanut Butter, Banana frosting

1/2 cup peanut butter
1 mashed banana
1/2 cup yogurt
3 oz cream cheese
Mix to spreading consistency. Decorate with 3 tbs. carob chips and 1/4 tsp oil melted in microwave for 1 minute at 50% power. Remove from microwave and stir til smooth. Transfer to plastic bag, snip corner and decorate!
